Bouy is an insurance policy that the legislature introduced in July 2025. It offers boat renters the opportunity to fully insure themselves and their guests on the boat tour against all risks during the boat rental period. The rental boat customer is free to choose whether or not to purchase this insurance. Please note that some homeowner's insurance policies may already cover boat rentals. Please check your policy first before making a decision. However, the law allows you to decline this additional insurance. In this case, the law states that if you decline the insurance, the boat renter will be liable for any potential damages.
